From the snowy mountains of Japan to the modern Southwestern home, shoji style speaks to me because it blends delicacy with durability, minimalism with fine woodworking. For the modern eye, I update this tradition with hard or soft woods and specialty rice papers. Many designs are customizable, and you can order other custom designs.
I draw inspiration from many Asian sources but also from Mission architecture, historic Greene & Greene houses, and modern woodworking masters such as Thomas Moser, Wendell Castle and Sam Maloof. A fine art attitude toward woodworking and design is what these Eastern & Western masters share. Simple, versatile designs brought to life with exquisite detail.
I migrated from the East Coast to New Mexico many years ago. In 2014 I moved to Boulder, Colorado. I am a dedicated dad, musician, and woodworker. My background in art, homebuilding and fine woodworking is reflected in the contemporary products I offer for your home or business. This work is my enduring focus and passion.
